1523. John Meader (1832  –     )

John Meader, son of Moses Meader (bc.1796) [0102] and Ruth Sawyer (  –  ), was born August 7, 1832. He first went to sea in 1843 [when he was 11 years old?] and was gone for 3 1/2 years on a whaling voyage. He followed the sea for twenty years. He kept a log of his voyages which he claimed Sylvanus Cobb, Jr. used when he wrote sea stories.

He married:

1)     Sarah A. Clonent of Andover, ME. They had no children.

2)     Hattie E. Emerson of Bridgeton Center, ME. They had no children.
